Body:

I recently had a trip to Dehradun with one of my team members, and we decided to travel through Haridwar and Rishikesh by train as there were no direct connections available. Unfortunately, our experience was not great, and we ended up losing money. The journey was supposed to be nine hours long but took around ten hours. Therefore, I would give the journey a rating of 4 out of 10.

The seats on the train were not comfortable, even though we had two confirmed sleeper class tickets. The seats were not spacious, and it was difficult to relax or sleep. Therefore, I would rate the comfort level of the seats 3 out of 10.

On a positive note, the train was surprisingly clean, and the cleanliness was well-maintained, but the sleeper class was overcrowded. Hence, I would rate the cleanliness of the train 8 out of 10.

There were charging points available on the train, and they were working, which was a relief. However, there were no food and beverage options or air conditioning facilities available, and the luggage storage areas were limited.

During our journey, we faced challenges such as overcrowding and a fight for our reserved seats. Unfortunately, there were no ticket checkers available, which was disappointing. Therefore, I would rate the overall experience 2 out of 10 in terms of challenges faced.

However, we also had a positive experience with a lady who called her son to take immediate action when we faced challenges. The son was very helpful, and we appreciated his quick response. Therefore, I would rate the response 9 out of 10, but the advice given by the railway police officers was not helpful and would rate it 3 out of 10.

Conclusion:

Overall, my experience of traveling on the train was not great, and I would not recommend it. The comfort level and facilities were below average, and we faced challenges during the journey. However, the train was clean, and we had a positive experience with the helpful lady and her son. If you plan to travel by train, be prepared for challenges and limited facilities.
