My Visit to GMC Sikar
GMC Sikar is a government medical college and hospital based in Sikar, Rajasthan, India. It is one of the 17 new medical colleges established by the Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) with the aim of providing quality medical education and healthcare in underserved areas of the country.
Infrastructure and Facilities
GMC Sikar has a spacious campus of 100 acres with modern infrastructure and facilities. The institute has a 500-bedded hospital with 10 operation theatres, 20 ICU beds, 5 dialysis units, blood bank, radiology, pathology, microbiology and other diagnostic laboratories. The hospital also has a telemedicine centre, a trauma centre, a burns unit, a dental college and a nursing college. The institute also has a library, a cafeteria, a sports complex, a guest house and a helipad.
Staff and Services
GMC Sikar has a dedicated and qualified staff of doctors, nurses, paramedics, technicians and administrative personnel who work round the clock to provide efficient and compassionate care to the patients. The institute has 100 faculty members from various specialties and super-specialties who are experts in their fields and have national and international recognition. The institute also has 400 nursing staff who are trained and skilled in providing patient care.
The hospital offers a range of services to the patients, such as OPD, IPD, emergency, critical care, surgery, transplantation, dialysis, radiology, pathology, microbiology, blood bank, pharmacy and rehabilitation. The hospital also provides online appointments, teleconsultation, e-hospital and e-library services to the patients and the public. The hospital also conducts various academic and research activities, such as MBBS, MD/MS, DM/MCh, PhD, BSc Nursing, MSc Nursing and other paramedical courses. The institute also organizes various workshops, seminars, conferences and CMEs for the faculty and students.
My Experience and Feedback
I visited GMC Sikar for a routine check-up and I was very satisfied with the experience. The registration process was smooth and quick and I did not have to pay any fee as the check-up was covered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. The doctor was very courteous and attentive and listened to my complaints and history carefully. He examined me thoroughly and prescribed some tests and medicines. The tests were done in the same premises and the reports were available online within a few hours. The medicines were also available in the pharmacy at a reasonable price.
The hospital was very clean and well-maintained and the staff was very polite and helpful. The hospital also had a good ambience and a positive vibe. I did not face any difficulty or inconvenience during my visit and I would recommend GMC Sikar to anyone who needs quality healthcare at an affordable cost.
