My Experience as an MBBS Student of GMC Sri Ganganagar
GMC Sri Ganganagar is a government medical college and hospital based in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, India. It is one of the 17 new medical colleges established by the Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) with the aim of providing quality medical education and healthcare in underserved areas of the country.
Infrastructure and Facilities
GMC Sri Ganganagar has a spacious campus of 100 acres with modern infrastructure and facilities. The institute has a 500-bedded hospital with 10 operation theatres, 20 ICU beds, 5 dialysis units, blood bank, radiology, pathology, microbiology and other diagnostic laboratories. The hospital also has a telemedicine centre, a trauma centre, a burns unit, a dental college and a nursing college. The institute also has a library, a cafeteria, a sports complex, a guest house and a helipad.
Staff and Services
GMC Sri Ganganagar has a dedicated and qualified staff of doctors, nurses, paramedics, technicians and administrative personnel who work round the clock to provide efficient and compassionate care to the patients and the students. The institute has 100 faculty members from various specialties and super-specialties who are experts in their fields and have national and international recognition. The institute also has 400 nursing staff who are trained and skilled in providing patient care and student support.
The hospital offers a range of services to the patients, such as OPD, IPD, emergency, critical care, surgery, transplantation, dialysis, radiology, pathology, microbiology, blood bank, pharmacy and rehabilitation. The hospital also provides online appointments, teleconsultation, e-hospital and e-library services to the patients and the public. The hospital also conducts various academic and research activities, such as MBBS, MD/MS, DM/MCh, PhD, BSc Nursing, MSc Nursing and other paramedical courses. The institute also organizes various workshops, seminars, conferences and CMEs for the faculty and students.
My Experience and Feedback
I am an MBBS student of GMC Sri Ganganagar and I am very happy with my choice of college. The college has provided me with a conducive environment for learning and developing my skills and knowledge. The college has excellent infrastructure and facilities that make my studies comfortable and enjoyable. The college has a well-stocked library with books, journals, e-resources and computers that help me in my research and assignments. The college also has well-equipped laboratories where I can perform experiments and learn practical skills. The college also has a sports complex where I can play games and exercise for my physical fitness.
The faculty of the college is very supportive and helpful. They are knowledgeable and experienced in their subjects and teach us with passion and enthusiasm. They use various teaching methods such as lectures, demonstrations, case studies, group discussions, presentations, quizzes etc. to make the classes interactive and interesting. They also clear our doubts and queries and give us feedback and suggestions for improvement. They also motivate and inspire us to achieve our goals and aspirations.
The hospital of the college is also very impressive and beneficial. It gives me an opportunity to observe and learn from the real-life cases and scenarios. It also gives me a chance to interact and communicate with the patients and their attendants and develop my clinical skills and ethics. It also exposes me to various specialties and super-specialties and helps me to choose my future career path. It also helps me to develop a sense of responsibility and professionalism as a doctor.
The college also has a good social and cultural atmosphere. It has various clubs and societies that organize various events and activities for the students. It also celebrates various festivals and occasions with zeal and fervor. It also promotes harmony and unity among the students from different backgrounds and cultures. It also encourages the students to participate in various competitions and contests at the state and national level.
The college also has a good administration and management. It has a transparent and efficient system of admission, fee payment, attendance, examination, result declaration etc. It also has a grievance redressal cell that addresses the issues and problems of the students. It also has an anti-ragging committee that ensures a ragging-free campus. It also has a placement cell that helps the students in getting internships and jobs.
Overall, I am very satisfied and proud to be a student of GMC Sri Ganganagar. The college has given me a platform to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor. The college has provided me with quality education and healthcare at an affordable cost. The college has shaped my personality and character and made me a confident and competent individual. I would recommend GMC Sri Ganganagar to anyone who wants to study medicine in Rajasthan.
